Guidelines for love
A love that's mature and child-like at the same time, obviously. Writing poetic letters, e-mails that quote love letters written by 'famous' people, that quote Jane Austen and Elizabeth Browning, but also writing cheesy post-its and sticking it on the coffee mug. A love that stays by my side but also leaves me alone. Cooking together and getting drunk together, sneaking a smoke break together- one hand passing the cigarette while the other curled around a chai cup (lemon tea for me, of course). Gifting books and encouraging to buy more while out on a book shopping spree- making others look at us while we gush over books and pretty hardcovers as always. A love that knows me but also looks at me like I am something shiny new. Knowing where I am ticklish and knowing where I hate to be touched and finding out moles and scars, both visible and hidden. Sending songs and quoting random lyrics. Watching movies together and watching movies alone. A love that's mature and a love that's insane.
