Unapologetic

I was a feminist even before I understood the meaning of that word. And for that, I've almost always been the "troublemaker", the "bad girl"- the one who dared to use swear words, who dared to stand up against her bullies, who dared to call out misogyny and discrimination, who dared to ask "WHY?", who dared to be unapologetic when it came to putting her and her happiness and her safety and security first instead of making sure "the man" is happy and content with an ego that's intact. There are scars and secrets and hurt that I collected along the way. But what gave me courage to go on without changing my ways and turning into a "good girl" were other women, other "bad women"- honest and fierce and beautiful in their unapologetic feminist self.
That's why seeing other "bad women" gives me pride and joy and HOPE.
